Client: Butlers     Project: Brand Refresh

Bringing modern branding to a traditional family retailer

Bringing entertainment to homes since 1932, Butlers is independently owned and committed to providing the latest technology, combined with excellent customer service. Butlers delivers, installs and provides support for a wide range of home entertainment products, from LCD and Plasma TVs to Apple iMacs and iPods.

The brief

Attract a broader customer demographic and represent a fuller product extension, to help the company grow.

The situation

A healthy customer base, buying familiar household electricals, but not iPods, Apple iMacs or the latest gadgets. Now Butlers was offering more than just TVs and servicing, it needed to communicate this to its existing customer base and attract a whole new crowd.

The solution

Keeping the established name, we developed the logo and introduced a new strapline and contemporary visual elements to reflect Butlers’ mix of friendly service and new technology. We applied the new identity to all of Butlers’ marketing at once, to give the best chance of a successful re-launch.

This year sees Butlers not only surviving but seeing better returns than ever on its direct mail and an increase in footfall.
