Client: Swizzels Project: Brand Refreshes
Making the core brands look as yummy as they taste
Love Hearts, Refresher, Drumstick Lollies, Rainbow Drops, Double Dips, Fun Gums, Parma Violets, Double Lollies. Since 1928, Swizzels Matlow has made generations of sweet lovers very happy.
The brief
Refresh the brand identity for Drumstick Lollies whilst being true to the original brand and create new brand styles for Parma Violets and Fizzers staying true to their history.
The situation
Drumsticks, Parma Violets and Fizzers were, and still are well-known brands but each needed a face lift to make them complete harder and jump off the shelves.
The solution
First, we ate a lot of Drumstick Lollies - (Very Important Research). Then we broke down all the graphical elements of the Drumstick Lolly identity to pin down its strengths and weaknesses.
When we redeveloped the logo, we took the best bits of the brand and utilised them to create recall but with a fresh more modern feel. We developed these devices to help introduce some brand new flavours.
Swizzels loved the new product identities and packaging. Straight away, they asked us to get to work on refreshing Parma Violets and Fizzers too.
