A new energy for services brand

Total Trade Solutions is a specialist provider and installer of home energy efficiency products and services, operating across the UK.

The brief

Re-engage staff and customers with a new brand name and identity which reflects the new company values and supports on-going growth.

The situation

The company has seen rapid growth over the past few years and currently has over 400 employees. This rapid growth has resulted in issues of internal culture and brand image. The management team has addressed these issues by implementing an internal culture change programme and embarking on a re-brand.

The solution

We began by using Activate our brand discovery system, to understand the business, its vision, values and experiences.

The name Tempo was decided upon as it was emotive, yet had a professional, dynamic and business-like feel. This marked it out from the competition which tended to use very descriptive or traditional names. From the name the visual identity developed, inspired by the repeating beat of a tempo and then shortened to become a smile under the logotype. This smile represents the newly energised employees and the customer's satisfaction.

A simple yet striking mark, the logo is used with a warm, bright colour way and modern typeface to create applications which present a new image to customers. Finally a range of images which demonstrate customers enjoying the benefits of the products and services supplied by Tempo bring the visual language together.
